Republic day honors the day on which the constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India act (1937) as the Governing document of India.

In our school, we celebrated the 70th Republic day in a grand manner and it was also the sports day for classes L.K.G. to XII STD. On the day, the entire school gathered to welcome our chief guest Mr. Ramu, who is the Inspector of Kalpakkam Police Station.

Before we began, we started the occasion with a prayer song followed by Tamil Thaai Vazhthu. Our honorable chief guest hoisted the national flag. The flag reminded us our responsibilities that we have towards our nation. The march past was carried over by the students of classes VI- XII. It was lead by the student council. The march past was headed by Manju Keerthana of VII STD. She was holding the majestic flag and marched in front with grace and enthusiasm. As the drum beats rolled with the band striking up, a high pitched voice issued a command. The synchronized swing of arms and the sound of thudding feet stirred something within us.
